Shimano STEPS / EP error E014: Speed sensor in the wrong position

What it means

The system thinks the speed sensor is not where it should be. Power assistance is not provided while this is shown.

Likely causes

• Speed sensor knocked or fitted in the wrong position
• Magnet moved

Symptoms

• No assist
• E014 shown

How to fix it

1. Check the sensor and magnet have not been knocked out of place.
2. Contact your place of purchase or a dealer to refit the sensor correctly.
3. After refitting, a short test ride then a restart is needed.
