Rad Power Bikes error 30: Communication error

What it means

There is a communication fault between the controller and display. It can be a loose connector anywhere on the bike, a damaged cable or a faulty controller.

Likely causes

• Loose or wet connector
• Damaged cable
• Faulty display or controller

Symptoms

• Error 30 on the display
• No assist
• RadTrike: may show as a low battery warning (one flashing bar) even with a charged battery

How to fix it

1. Turn off, remove the battery and press the power button to discharge.
2. Check battery and tray contacts are clean and dry.
3. Follow Rad's Error 30 / connector check guide for your model: unplug one connector at a time, inspect, reconnect and test.
4. If a connector is damaged, wet or dirty, or the error stays, contact Rad Power Bikes support with photos.
