Can I ride home with this error?

Ride with caution. Pedal without assist only if the wheel turns freely; stop if the motor drags or locks.

What it means

The motor or its wiring is not working correctly. On generic displays the meaning of a code depends on the controller's communication protocol; this meaning is from the display maker's manual for this protocol.

Likely causes

  • Loose or bent pins in the motor connector
  • Damaged motor cable
  • Motor or controller fault

Symptoms

  • E07 shows
  • No assist, jerky or noisy motor

How to fix it

  1. With the bike switched off, check the connectors between the display, controller and motor are clean, dry and pushed fully home.
  2. Look for damaged cable where it leaves the motor axle.
  3. Do not open the motor.
  4. If the code stays, take the bike to your dealer or an e-bike repair shop.
