Ride with caution. Safe to pedal without assist.

What it means

The display and controller are not talking. The display is not receiving data. On generic displays the meaning of a code depends on the controller's communication protocol; this meaning is from the display maker's manual for this protocol.

Likely causes

  • Loose or damaged display cable
  • Bent connector pin
  • Display not matched to controller protocol
  • Faulty display or controller

Symptoms

  • E10 shows
  • No assist
  • Readings freeze

How to fix it

  1. With the bike switched off, check the connectors between the display, controller and motor are clean, dry and pushed fully home.
  2. Check the display cable for pinches at the handlebar.
  3. Switch the bike off, wait 10 seconds and switch it on again.
  4. Do not change P20 (protocol) unless your seller tells you to.
  5. If the code stays, take the bike to your dealer or an e-bike repair shop.
