Ride with caution. No assist until the battery temperature is normal; the bike can still be pedalled.
What it means
The battery protects itself when its temperature is outside the range where it can discharge safely. No system functions will start until it returns to a normal temperature.
Likely causes
- Battery left in hot sun or a hot car
- Battery very cold after outdoor storage
Symptoms
- System will not start
- W020 shown
How to fix it
- If hot: move the battery to a cool place out of direct sunlight and wait.
- If cold: bring the battery indoors and let it warm up.
- Try again once it is at room temperature.
- If it continues at normal temperature, contact your place of purchase.
How urgent is it?
Let the battery reach a normal temperature before using or charging it.
