Bosch error 514001: Speed signal problem - check rim magnet

What it means

The drive unit's internal speed sensing has a problem. Bosch points to the rim magnet (on the valve) as the first thing to check.

Likely causes

• Rim magnet loose or missing from the valve

Symptoms

• Code 514001
• Wrong or no speed reading
• Reduced assistance

How to fix it

1. Check the rim magnet is firmly attached to the valve.
2. Switch the eBike system off, wait a few seconds, then switch it on again.
3. Ride a short distance and check the speed shows correctly.
4. If the code comes back, contact your Bosch eBike dealer.

Restart first; see a Bosch eBike dealer if it keeps coming back.
