Ride with caution. You can ride home carefully, but expect reduced or no assist.
What it means
The controller can’t read cadence/PAS correctly, so it may reduce or disable assist.
Likely causes
- PAS magnet disc misaligned or installed backwards
- PAS sensor too far from magnet ring
- Loose PAS connector or damaged cable
Symptoms
- No assist when pedaling
- Assist starts then stops intermittently
How to fix it
- Inspect the PAS magnet disc orientation and spacing to the sensor.
- Reseat the PAS connector and check for bent pins.
- Check that the crank area cable isn’t pinched or rubbed through.
How urgent is it?
Service soon if it’s not a simple alignment/connection issue.
