Bafang error 45: Battery too hot

What it means

The battery has got too hot and assist is stopped to protect it.

Likely causes

• Hot weather or direct sun
• Heavy use
• Battery fault

Symptoms

• Code 45 shows
• No assist

How to fix it

1. Stop riding and switch off.
2. Move the bike out of the sun and let the battery cool. Do not charge a hot battery.
3. If the battery is very hot, swollen, smoking or smells, keep away from it and call the emergency services if needed.
4. If the code comes back once cool, take the battery to your dealer.

An overheating battery is a safety risk.
